International House of Pancakes is opening one of its kind initiatives, a pancake bank. The new loyalty program aims to attract technologically sound customers to engage with the brand to create a fun experience. IHOP is aiming to encourage customers to use their app, which will help them gauge their habits and preferences. The loyalty program will also help hook customers to the brand which gives it an edge over competitors.
The customers who wish to participate in the program have to make an account through the IHOP app or online. For every $5 spent, a PanCoin is earnt which can be redeemed for one pancake or saved for other rewards offered on the app’s stack market. The program goes live in April, but customers can pre-register this month itself for extra perks.
IHOP President Jay Johns said, “Consumers are generally more tech-savvy now than ever before,” adding that, “IHOP plans to place a greater emphasis on digital marketing, one way to do that? A very creative and fun loyalty program”
The program also lets customers customize orders to make it a dynamic experience that can be used to recreate token-style marketing.
