The Sony PlayStation 5 now has a new Disney Plus app that enables users to enjoy their preferred films, TV episodes, original content, and more in 4K HDR resolution.
The previous version of the Disney+ app on PS5 was actually a PS4 app running on the newer console, so visuals were limited to 1080p resolution, whereas the relaunched Disney+ app was designed natively for PS5 and now supports 4K High-Dynamic Range playback across the service’s growing catalog of titles.
“A key part of our global expansion strategy is to meet consumers wherever they are, which is why we’re excited to enhance Disney+ for PlayStation 5 users. The ability to support 4K HDR video streaming on the platform will also improve the viewing experience for fans,” said Jerrell Jimerson, EVP of Product and Design for Disney Streaming.
PS5 owners can get the new Disney+ app from the media section of their home screen.
