The US retail giant Kmart is about to close all its stores for general and leave just 3 stores open. This marks the end of an era as it was one of the major grocery retail stores in the whole of the United States. Kmart nearly owned and operated 2000 stores across the country to give shoppers best in class services and products.
One of the major reasons for shutting down is the rise of Walmart and Amazon as greater alternatives after years of domination by Kmart. Kmart sold product lines endorsed by celebrities Jaclyn Smith and Martha Stewart and even sponsored NASCAR auto races. Shoppers will remember Kmart as a middle-class friendly neighbourhood store that had all the things they needed, sometimes even more!
