Astronaut Sian Proctor of SpaceX Inspiration4 has shared the first behind-the-scenes look at the world’s first all-private astronaut crew to witness the largest window ever flown in space.
With this launch, Hayley Arceneaux became the youngest American astronaut in history and the first to fly in space with an internal prosthetic.
The Inspiration4 private orbital spaceflight is accessible to anyone rich enough to pay $20-$40M for a seat. Jared Issacman, the founder and chief executive officer of Shift4 Payments, chose to invite three relatively ordinary people along for the ride. He even raffled one of the three ‘tickets’ to any American willing to donate $10 or more to the fight against childhood cancer. He heavily focused on raising money and awareness for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the fight against childhood cancer.
It isn’t a surprise that space tourism can become more and more significant in the upcoming future, as the race to space began a few years back.
