The global e-commerce giant, Amazon, recently announced a tablet for $60. The device will be the latest version of the company’s Fire 7 tablet.
The device will have a longer battery life than its predecessor. At $59.99, it is priced slightly higher than the previous version. Digital hardware manufacturing and selling is not a huge business segment for Amazon, as it is for other companies. It is rather intended to bring more people into Amazon’s ecosystem of services such as Alexa, Music, Books, and the e-commerce app.
According to the Amazon team, the new Fire 7 device will have a 40% longer battery life. Users can enjoy up to 10 hours of browsing. Its processor will also have a 30% improvement in performance, which should make the tablet more responsive. The device will have 2GB of RAM. The new Fire 7 is available for preorder starting Wednesday, and shipping will begin on June 29.
