Tesla CEO Elon Musk has affirmed through a tweet that employees must return to the office and be present in person for at least 40 hours per week or face the consequences. The news of the tweet quickly spread among the Tesla employees, who gave mixed reactions to the new policy.
The tweet by Musk read, “Anyone who wishes to do remote work must be in the office for a minimum (and I mean *minimum*) of 40 hours per week or depart Tesla. This is less than we ask of factory workers.”
Musk said that he would directly review and approve any requests for exemption from the company’s return-to-work policy but clarified to his staff, “If you don’t show up, we will assume you have resigned.”
