Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, is known for using Twitter to tease out various thoughts he has about his business interests, cryptocurrency, politics, and life in general, it appears like one of his largest ambitions is coming to life. Twitter has accepted Musk’s offer to buy the publicly traded firm for $54.20 per share, valuing the social media giant at $44 billion.
Twitter’s Independent Board Chair Bret Taylor said of the acquisition, “The Twitter Board executed a thoughtful and extensive process to analyse Elon’s bid with a deliberate focus on value, predictability, and funding.”
Elon Musk said, “Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.”
