Tennis Legend Serena Williams has raised $110 million for her new early-stage VC firm Serena Ventures, as per the Funds’ blog post. Cointracker, Propel and Edtech Masterclass are the fintech companies the fund has invested in. The Company looks over a portfolio of more than 60 angel investments including 13 unicorns.
The firm recently had a huge sell-off in tech stocks pressuring the private valuation, which could be one of the main reasons to raise its inaugural fund. Serena Ventures is headed by Serena and Alison Rapaport who boasts an impressive CV that includes JP Morgan, Wasserma and Melo7Tech Ventures.
Serena Williams has been an active investor ever since her playing days and continues to take part in major investment campaigns. Her interest in the Tech and Business side of things compelled her to start the new venture fund and raise $110 Million as its inaugural funding.
