Apple’s big iOS 15 update for iPhones allows its users to invite Android and Windows users into their FaceTime calls.
This is something that is possible for the first time. Previously, FaceTime calls were only limited to users having iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
Now, when iPhone users begin a FaceTime call from their iPhone, they can invite people using Android phones or Windows computers. All iPhone users need to do is send Android or Windows users a link that they can open in a web browser for joining the call. Now users from different operating systems or software don’t have to search for a different app to communicate with each other.
iPhone users need to give approval to those who try joining the calls using that link, this helps in preventing random people from joining the call using the link.
Someone still needs to have an Apple device for starting the call. After that, anyone can join.
