Apple is reportedly updating its 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros as early as this fall. The M2 version of the models will roughly have the same design and features since Apple redesigned the line last year to add MagSafe charging, more ports, and better displays. The biggest change is the M2 versions of the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips in the current models. The benchmarks of the M2 chip in the MacBook Pro show its single-core performance as 11.56% faster than a M1 chip, while multi-core performance is up about 19.45%.
Though Apple hopes to release the new MacBook Pros sometime in fall, the release could be delayed to spring 2023 due to continued supply chain challenges. Apart from the new Macs, the company Is also working on a new HomePod and an extreme sports Apple Watch.
