Teetotaling Entrepreneurship: English Postgraduate quits British Council Career to perceive Business Dream

Entrepreneurship can be an inspiring beginning for anyone and at any time in their career. Sharmistha Ghosh, an English Literature postgraduate who has teamed with her friend Bhavna Rao, operates a tea stall on wheels. Dreaming of building a tea stall as big as Chaayos- the well-known tea coffee chain having a strong nationwide network, the duo began their new venture in the tea business.

In a country like India, it is a very rare scenario when a scenario of finding highly qualified individuals with a strong educational background to run a small tea stall. Sharmistha Ghosh, having a dream of building a large chai-coffee chain soon, began her business with a small moving tea stall business. Sharmistha is a postgraduate in English literature operating a small moving tea stall on wheels (commonly known as Raydee) in the Delhi Cantonment’s happening location of Gopinath Bazar.

Her entrepreneurial dreams of having a big business, made her quit her high paying comfortable job she had with British Council Library to set up a tea stall. Having a vision of building a big business of making her tea stall as huge as Chaayos-the popular team-coffee chain in the country, Sharmistha began her business journey with the initial steps. She believes that her initial steps will make her strong, tough, and resilient, and that experience will fuel her main goal of building her empire, one day.

Sharmistha Ghosh story was shared by retired Brigadier Indian Army Sanjay Khanna on LinkedIn. Brigadier Khanna said, “I got curious and enquired from her the reason for doing so. She mentioned that she has a vision and dream to make it as big as Chaayos, the famous tea set up which is located all over.”
